Spring and Summer 2015 Travel-Research-Engagement Grants

Submission deadline: November 3, 2014

The competition is open to academic political scientists at career stages from PhD students to senior faculty from any institution, and is not restricted to U.S. citizens or residents. Awards of up to $3,000 will be offered to support research travel to the broader Middle East. The research should be in support of an ongoing academic research project. Grant recipients are required to submit at least one article based on their research to POMEPS for possible publication on Washington Post’s The Monkey Cage. POMEPS 6th Annual Conference

Submission deadline: January 12, 2015

The Project on Middle East Political Science is delighted to invite proposals for papers on the politics of the contemporary Middle East for its sixth annual conference at the George Washington University on May 21-22, 2015. The conference will include workshop discussions of accepted papers by senior scholars in the field, with an eye toward preparing them for publication, and plenary discussions of topics relevant to the Middle East political science community. Applications are open to scholars at any career stage from ABD onward. POMEPS is particularly interested in receiving article manuscripts that have been rejected from a journal or are in the revise-and-resubmit stage. Authors must commit to delivering a full paper by April 13, 2015, so that it may be distributed to the discussants. POMEPS will cover all travel and lodging expenses for the conference.
