Lihi Ben Shitrit will discuss her book, Righteous Transgressions: Women’s Activism on the Israeli and Palestinian Religious RightBen Shirit is an assistant professor at the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia, Athens. She holds a PhD, MPhil, and MA in political science from Yale University, and specializes in research concerning the intersection between gender, politics, and religion in the Middle East.

In Righteous Transgressions, Ben Shitrit examines the roles women in conservative religious movements play in expanding the demographics of political activism by analyzing the four most influential political movements of the Palestinian and Israeli religious right.
