Position Available: Jalal Talabany Chair for Kurdish Political Studies
The Department of Political Science invites applicants for a tenured position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor for the Jalal Talabany Chair for Kurdish Political Studies beginning August, 2015. Applicants must have a strong research record in Kurdish political studies with broader interests in Middle Eastern and comparative politics or international relations; a Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field from an accredited institution; and a strong record in teaching and research that is commensurate with a tenured position in the Political Science Department at UCF. Salary is highly competitive.

Position Available: Senior Policy Analyst
The Social and Economic Survey Research Institute (SESRI; http://sesri.qu.edu.qa/) invites applications for multiple full-time Senior Policy Analyst positions at its Policy Unit which is located at Qatar University in Doha, Qatar. The newly-formed Policy Unit is being created to utilize new and existing SESRI data to engage in empirically-backed analysis and debate of policy questions of relevance to Qatar and the Gulf region. Senior Policy Analysts will stay current on policy issues and best practices in their assigned substantive areas, oversee the successful completion of policy research projects, design and interpret analyses, and coordinate the work of Policy Analysts assigned to their projects, as well as develop and write reports and other communications for a wide variety of audiences, set agendas for convening with policy audiences, and make presentations as required.

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, University of Arizona, invites applications for the position of Director of the School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies, to begin Fall 2015. The School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies (MENAS) is a multi-disciplinary unit focusing on the region known as the Near or Middle East, which includes the Arab world, Iran, Israel, and Turkey, providing a full range of language courses in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and Turkish. MENAS aims to provide undergraduate and graduate students with a well-rounded interdisciplinary education emphasizing linguistic proficiency and exploring the complexities of culture, history, and politics in the region. MENAS is also home to the newly established Arizona Arabic Flagship Program and the Arizona Center for Turkish Studies and coordinates activities with the Title VI-funded Center for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES), the Middle East Studies Association of North America (MESA), and the American Institute for Maghrib Studies (AIMS), all of which are located on the University of Arizona campus in Tucson. The Director is expected to advance the School’s mission by attracting, mentoring, and retaining the highest quality faculty, expanding and broadening the School’s research activities and funding, maintaining innovative educational programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and fostering public engagement and outreach.
